If you're from New Zealand you probably already know this is Hooker Lake near the base of Aoraki / Mount Cook.

I'm often in this area but have only done this walk once, I'm glad I made the journey this time.

It was a beautifully clear and freezing day for a hike up to the lake.

Aoraki is the mountain in the center.
